Overview
The 2025 Porsche Taycan 4S Plus is a seriously rapid all-electric sports saloon that perfectly blends face-melting performance with everyday usability. As the sweet spot in the updated Taycan range, the 4S Plus offers a thrilling all-wheel-drive experience, courtesy of its potent dual motors, and a generous real-world range. It's a proper Porsche, just electric! With a starting price around €126,422 new in the EU, it's aimed at those wanting cutting-edge EV tech wrapped in an achingly desirable package, ready to give other premium EVs a serious run for their money.
What's New for 2025?
For 2025, the Taycan gets a proper glow-up! This 4S Plus benefits from the significant model-wide refresh, boasting more power, a bigger 97 kWh usable battery for extra miles, and even quicker DC charging now up to a blistering 320 kW. Porsche has also tweaked the suspension, making adaptive air suspension standard for an even smoother yet sharper ride. Inside, the tech gets an upgrade with a revised interface and more standard kit. It’s the Taycan you love, just turned up to eleven and more efficient.
Design & Exterior
This thing still looks like it’s warp-driving even when parked! The 2025 Taycan 4S Plus keeps that iconic, low-slung silhouette but sharpens the details with new headlight and taillight designs. Measuring 4963 mm in length, 1966 mm wide, and a sleek 1379 mm tall, its road presence is undeniable. The 4S Plus trim gets distinctive aero-optimised wheels and subtle badging, setting it apart. Those four-point LED daytime running lights are pure Porsche, making it instantly recognisable as it slices through the air. It’s a head-turner, no doubt about it.
Interior, Tech & Cargo
Slide inside the Taycan 4S Plus, and it’s pure Porsche theatre mixed with futuristic tech. You’re greeted by a beautifully crafted cabin with top-notch materials and a driver-focused cockpit dominated by multiple configurable screens, including a stunning curved driver display. Passenger space is decent for a sports saloon, seating five. For your stuff, there's a 407-litre boot and a handy 84-litre frunk up front; rear seats also fold for more room. The latest Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system is slick, with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, keeping you connected.
Performance & Driving Experience
Hold on tight! The Taycan 4S Plus rockets from 0-100 km/h in a blistering 3.7 seconds. Its dual PMSM motors (one front, one rear) deliver a whopping 440 kW and 710 Nm of torque through an all-wheel-drive system, pushing you to a top speed of 250 km/h. It’s not just straight-line grunt; this Taycan handles like a true Porsche – agile, precise, and utterly engaging, especially with the standard adaptive air suspension. Braking is strong, with effective recuperation to feed juice back into the battery. It’s an electrifying drive, literally!
Range, Battery & Charging
The 4S Plus packs a mighty 97 kWh usable battery, delivering a Green Cars Compare calculated real-world range of around 497 km – plenty for big adventures. Efficiency is impressive at 5.12 km/kWh. At home, the standard 11 kW AC charger will fill it up in approximately 9 hours, or opt for the 22 kW upgrade for a quicker top-up in around 4.5 hours. Out and about, its 800V architecture allows for scorching DC fast charging via the CCS Type 2 port at up to 320 kW, potentially zapping from 10-80% in under 20 minutes!
Safety & Driver-Assistance Features
Porsche doesn't skimp on safety, and the Taycan 4S Plus boasts a 5-star Euro NCAP rating, which is top marks! Standard kit usually includes essentials like Lane Keeping Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, and autonomous emergency braking. You’ll likely find adaptive cruise control on the options list, alongside clever tech like Porsche InnoDrive for semi-autonomous cruising, a surround-view camera system for tight spots, and Night Vision Assist. So, while you’re having fun, the Taycan is also looking out for you.
Warranty & Maintenance Coverage
Owning a Taycan 4S Plus comes with decent peace of mind. In Europe, Porsche typically offers a 2-year unlimited kilometre vehicle warranty, with a 3-year paint warranty and 12 years against rust. Crucially, that big battery is covered for 8 years or 160,000 km, guaranteeing it'll retain a good chunk of its capacity. While Porsche isn't known for throwing in free maintenance, reliability for the Taycan has been solid post-launch, meaning fewer unexpected workshop visits. Just enjoy the electrifying performance!
