Overview
Say hello to the 2025 Cadillac Optiq AWD, the brand's stylish new entry point into the all-electric luxury space. Slotting in just below the larger Lyriq, the Optiq aims to shake up the compact premium SUV market. It packages Cadillac's sharp design language and high-tech Ultium platform into a more accessible vehicle. With standard dual-motor all-wheel drive and a tech-forward cabin, it’s a compelling American contender. Starting at an estimated $52,895, it's gunning for European rivals and looking to win over buyers new to the Cadillac brand.
What's New for 2025?
For 2025, everything about the Optiq is new! This is an all-new nameplate for Cadillac, marking a significant expansion of its electric vehicle portfolio. It’s built from the ground up on GM's flexible Ultium architecture, bringing the brand’s cutting-edge EV technology to the fiercely competitive compact SUV segment. It’s not just an update; it’s a fresh face designed to introduce Cadillac’s electric future to a wider audience, boasting a standard dual-motor setup and a host of premium features right out of the gate.
Design & Exterior
The Optiq boasts a sharp, athletic stance that's unmistakably Cadillac but with a youthful energy. Its signature vertical lighting and Black Crystal grille command attention, while the sleek profile and fixed-glass roof create a modern, coupe-like silhouette. This AWD model rides on stylish 20-inch wheels as standard. Measuring 190 inches long, 75.4 inches wide, and 65 inches tall, it has a planted and substantial presence on the road. It’s a head-turner that perfectly blends classic Caddy prestige with futuristic EV flair.
Interior, Tech & Cargo
Inside, the Optiq's cabin is a high-tech sanctuary. Your eyes are immediately drawn to the stunning 33-inch, 9K-resolution LED display that elegantly curves across the dashboard, handling both infotainment and driver information. The five-seat interior feels spacious and uses premium materials, including a unique patterned fabric woven from recycled yarn. For your gear, you get a practical 26 cubic feet of trunk space, which expands to a massive 57 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down. Note that there is no frunk for extra storage up front.
Performance & Driving Experience
The Optiq AWD gets its shove from a dual-motor setup, featuring a permanent magnet motor up front and an induction motor at the rear. This combination produces a healthy 300 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of instant torque, rocketing the SUV from 0-60 mph in a brisk 5.9 seconds. Expect a smooth, quiet, and composed ride, with confident acceleration for city driving and highway merging. Driver-selectable modes, including one-pedal driving and Regen on Demand paddles, allow you to tailor the driving experience and maximize efficiency on the fly.
Range, Battery & Charging
Powered by an 85 kWh usable battery pack, the Optiq AWD delivers a Green Cars Compare calculated real-world range of 287 miles, with an impressive efficiency of 3.38 mi/kWh. For home charging, the standard 11.5 kW onboard charger can replenish the battery overnight, with a faster 19.2 kW unit available as an option. When you're on the move, its 400V architecture supports DC fast charging up to 150 kW. The US-spec model features a CCS Type 1 port, ensuring compatibility with most public chargers, with NACS support coming soon.
Safety & Driver-Assistance Features
As a brand-new model, official crash-test ratings from the NHTSA are still pending. However, the Optiq comes loaded with the Cadillac Smart System suite of safety features as standard. This includes essentials like Forward Collision Alert, Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, and Blind Zone Steering Assist. It also features an HD Rear Vision Camera and Rear Park Assist to make maneuvering a breeze. For those seeking the ultimate in convenience, GM’s impressive Super Cruise hands-free driving system will be available as an option.
Warranty & Maintenance Coverage
Cadillac backs the Optiq with a comprehensive warranty package for peace of mind. You get a 4-year/50,000-mile bumper-to-bumper limited warranty. Critically for an EV, the battery and electric drive components are covered for a robust 8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. This provides long-term protection for the most vital parts of the vehicle. Additionally, Cadillac includes the first scheduled maintenance visit within the first year, adding a nice touch of premium service for new owners.
