Overview
The Genesis GV60 Performance AWD is a premium compact SUV that brings stunning design, blistering pace, and high-end tech to the EV party. As Genesis' first dedicated electric car, it stands out with its unique styling and luxurious cabin, taking the fight directly to rivals like the Tesla Model Y Performance. This top-spec Performance trim is the one for thrill-seekers, packing a serious punch with its dual-motor setup. Although now discontinued, it represents a fantastic value proposition on the used market, with prices for this final model year hovering around €43,900 in Europe.
What's New for 2025?
As the final model year before being discontinued, the 2025 GV60 Performance AWD represents the most refined version of this generation. While there are no radical changes for this specific year, it incorporates all the latest updates, including advanced features like Face Connect for keyless entry and ignition, and the improved Digital Key 2 system. The infotainment software received its final tweaks for enhanced usability, and an air purification system became standard, ensuring the cabin environment is as premium as the badge suggests. It's the ultimate iteration of this striking EV.
Design & Exterior
The GV60’s design is a real head-turner, ditching traditional SUV boxiness for a sleek, coupe-like silhouette. Key features include the signature two-line Quad Lamps, a smooth 'clamshell' bonnet, and flush, auto-presenting door handles. The Performance AWD trim amps up the aggression with exclusive 21-inch alloy wheels and a sportier bumper design. It’s a compact machine, measuring 4515 mm long, 1890 mm wide, and 1580 mm tall, giving it a planted, athletic stance on the road. Optional digital side mirrors complete the futuristic look.
Interior, Tech & Cargo
Inside, the GV60 Performance AWD is a tech-lover's paradise with a minimalist, high-quality finish. The standout feature is the glowing Crystal Sphere gear selector, which rotates to reveal the drive controls—a brilliant bit of theatre. Two crisp 12.3-inch screens dominate the dashboard, handling all infotainment and driver data with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Passenger space is generous thanks to the flat floor. For your gear, you get 432 litres of boot space, which expands to a useful 1460 litres with the rear seats folded down.
Performance & Driving Experience
This is where the Performance AWD trim truly shines. With two Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors delivering a whopping 360 kW and 700 Nm of torque to all four wheels, it’s properly quick. Hit the 'Boost' button on the steering wheel, and you’ll rocket from 0-100 km/h in a blistering 4.0 seconds flat. An electronic limited-slip differential helps put the power down, while the adaptive suspension ensures a ride that is both comfortable and surprisingly agile. It even has a 'Drift Mode' if you're feeling particularly brave on a track day.
Range, Battery & Charging
The GV60 Performance AWD is equipped with a 74 kWh usable battery pack. According to Green Cars Compare's calculations, this delivers a practical real-world range of around 377 km, with an efficiency of 5.09 km/kWh. Thanks to its cutting-edge 800V architecture, charging is lightning-fast. At a compatible DC fast charger, it can suck up a maximum of 233 kW, going from 10-80% in just 18 minutes. For home charging via its CCS Type 2 port, the standard 11 kW on-board charger will top it up overnight. Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality also comes standard.
Safety & Driver-Assistance Features
Genesis didn't skimp on safety, earning the GV60 a full 5-star rating from Euro NCAP. The Performance AWD trim comes loaded with a comprehensive suite of driver-assistance systems as standard. This includes Highway Driving Assist II, which combines adaptive cruise control with lane centering and automated lane-change functions. You also get a slick Blind-Spot View Monitor that displays a camera feed in the digital dash, a 360-degree Surround View Monitor, and extensive collision avoidance systems for peace of mind on every journey.
Warranty & Maintenance Coverage
Reflecting its premium positioning, Genesis offers an excellent ownership package in Europe. The GV60 comes with a 5-year, unlimited-kilometre basic vehicle warranty. The crucial high-voltage battery is covered for 8 years or 160,000 km, whichever comes first, protecting against significant degradation. What truly sets Genesis apart is its 5-year care plan, which typically includes complimentary scheduled maintenance, roadside assistance, and even over-the-air software updates, making it a hassle-free ownership experience and boosting its appeal on the second-hand market.
