Overview
The 2025 Genesis GV60 Standard AWD is a premium electric crossover that brilliantly blends head-turning design with cutting-edge tech. Positioned against rivals like the Tesla Model Y and Audi Q4 e-tron, it stands out with its 'Athletic Elegance' styling and a genuinely luxurious cabin. This entry-level dual-motor version offers a fantastic mix of all-weather traction and punchy performance, all underpinned by a sophisticated 800V electrical architecture for ridiculously fast charging. European pricing is yet to be officially announced but expect it to be a compelling proposition in the premium EV space.
What's New for 2025?
For the 2025 model year, the GV60 Standard AWD gets a major shot in the arm with a new, larger 84 kWh battery pack, enhancing its range and making it an even more practical daily driver. Alongside the battery boost, Genesis has refined the infotainment software for a slicker, more intuitive user experience. While the stunning core design remains untouched, this update focuses on the essentials, elevating the base all-wheel-drive model's appeal by standardising the long-range battery, effectively closing the gap with higher-spec trims on the crucial metric of driving distance.
Design & Exterior
The GV60 is a true concept car for the road, defined by its futuristic and smooth 'Athletic Elegance' design. Up front, the signature split 'Two Lines' quad lamps and a dramatic clamshell bonnet create an unmistakable face. The coupe-like roofline flows into a muscular rear, while flush, auto-popping door handles maintain the clean surfacing. Its compact yet purposeful stance is measured at 4545 mm in length, 1890 mm in width, and 1580 mm in height, making it a perfectly-sized crossover for navigating tight European city streets while still commanding serious road presence.
Interior, Tech & Cargo
Inside, the GV60's cabin is a high-tech sanctuary, featuring premium, sustainable materials and standout design elements like the rotating 'Crystal Sphere' gear selector. The dashboard is dominated by a stunning panoramic display merging two 12.3-inch screens for the driver's instruments and central infotainment, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. Passenger space is generous thanks to the flat-floor EV platform. For practicality, you get 432 litres of boot space, which expands to a cavernous 1460 litres with the seats folded, plus a handy 53-litre frunk for extra storage.
Performance & Driving Experience
The Standard AWD trim is no slouch, packing a dual-motor setup with a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) on each axle. This configuration delivers a combined 234 kW and a hefty 605 Nm of instant torque, launching the car from 0-100 km/h in a brisk 5.5 seconds. The driving experience is exceptionally smooth and quiet, with the dedicated E-GMP platform providing a low centre of gravity for agile and confident handling. It’s a brilliant all-rounder, offering a comfortable ride for daily commuting and more than enough punch for spirited drives, complemented by effective one-pedal driving modes.
Range, Battery & Charging
Powered by a sizable 80 kWh usable battery, the GV60 Standard AWD boasts a Green Cars Compare estimated real-world range of 431 km, with an impressive efficiency of 5.39 km/kWh. The 800V architecture is its party piece, enabling a blistering maximum DC charging speed of 263 kW via its CCS Type 2 port. This can theoretically rocket the battery from 10-80% in as little as 18 minutes. For home charging, the standard 11 kW on-board charger provides a full top-up overnight. It also features Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability to power your gadgets on the go.
Safety & Driver-Assistance Features
Safety is a top priority, underscored by the GV60’s stellar 5-star Euro NCAP rating. Genesis equips the Standard AWD with a comprehensive suite of standard driver-assistance systems. This includes Highway Driving Assist, which combines Smart Cruise Control with Lane Following Assist for excellent semi-autonomous support on motorways. Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist are also included as standard. This robust package ensures a high level of confidence and protection, making it one of the safest choices in its class right out of the box.
Warranty & Maintenance Coverage
Genesis sets a high bar for ownership experience with its exceptional coverage. In Europe, the GV60 typically comes with a 5-Year/Unlimited Kilometre basic vehicle warranty. The crucial high-voltage battery is protected for 8 years or 160,000 kilometres against significant degradation. What truly seals the deal is the 'Genesis 5-Year Care Plan', which usually bundles in all scheduled maintenance, roadside assistance, and over-the-air updates. This premium, all-inclusive package makes running the GV60 remarkably straightforward and cost-effective, cementing its status as a top-tier premium product.
