Overview
The Genesis Electrified GV70 is a properly posh all-electric SUV designed to give German alternatives a serious headache. This AWD version packs a twin-motor punch, delivering blistering pace wrapped in a seriously stylish package. It’s the complete deal: a high-tech, luxurious cabin, a smooth ride, and ultra-fast 800V charging architecture. With production wrapping up, it represents a compelling option on the pre-owned market, with prices for well-specced examples hovering around €61,900. It’s a sophisticated and powerful choice for those wanting to stand out from the usual premium crowd.
What's New for 2025?
For its final model year, the 2025 GV70 gets a significant tech and style glow-up. The headline news is inside, where a jaw-dropping 27-inch OLED display now stretches across the dashboard, combining the instrument cluster and infotainment into one seamless, cinematic screen. Outside, the SUV gets a light nip-and-tuck with a refined G-Matrix patterned grille, slicker two-line headlamps using Micro Lens Array tech, and fresh wheel designs. These updates keep this handsome SUV looking sharp and feeling bang up-to-date against the competition before its production run concludes.
Design & Exterior
The Electrified GV70 is a real head-turner, showcasing Genesis’s ‘Athletic Elegance’ design. Its signature Quad Lamps and the inverted G-Matrix pattern on the sealed-off grille create a distinctive and imposing face. The smooth, flowing lines and coupe-like roofline give it a sporty profile that hides its practicality. Measuring 4715 mm in length, 1910 mm in width, and 1630 mm in height, it has a planted, muscular stance on the road. It’s a design that exudes confidence and luxury, making it one of the best-looking SUVs in its class.
Interior, Tech & Cargo
Step inside, and the GV70’s cabin feels properly premium, with high-quality materials and a beautiful, flowing design. For 2025, the new 27-inch OLED screen is the star, looking incredibly slick and modern. Passenger space is generous, and comfort is top-notch. Practicality is strong too, with 503 litres of boot space expanding to a huge 1678 litres with the seats down. There’s even a handy 25-litre frunk under the bonnet for storing charging cables. It’s a tech-filled sanctuary that feels a class above many rivals.
Performance & Driving Experience
This thing is seriously rapid. With dual Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors serving up 360 kW and a massive 700 Nm of torque to all four wheels, it rockets from 0-100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds. A press of the ‘Boost’ button on the steering wheel unleashes its full, face-melting potential for 10-second bursts. On the move, it’s whisper-quiet and comfortable, soaking up bumps with ease. Smart regenerative braking allows for one-pedal driving, making it a smooth operator in town, while its sheer power makes overtaking absolutely effortless.
Range, Battery & Charging
The GV70 is powered by a 74 kWh (usable) battery pack, delivering a real-world range estimated by Green Cars Compare at around 374 km, with an efficiency of 5.05 km/kWh. Thanks to its cutting-edge 800V architecture and CCS Type 2 port, it’s one of the fastest-charging EVs out there. It can suck up a whopping 350 kW at a DC fast charger, going from 10-80% in about 18 minutes. At home, the standard 11 kW on-board charger tops it up overnight. Plus, its brilliant Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) feature lets you power appliances from the car.
Safety & Driver-Assistance Features
Safety is a top priority, and the Electrified GV70 earned a full five-star rating from Euro NCAP. It comes loaded with an impressive suite of standard driver-assistance systems. The excellent Highway Driving Assist II combines smart cruise control with lane-keeping for relaxed motorway journeys. Other standard kit includes Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, which can show a live camera feed in the driver’s display, and a comprehensive Forward Collision-Avoidance system. It’s a reassuringly safe and high-tech package designed to protect you and your passengers on every trip.
Warranty & Maintenance Coverage
Genesis really rolls out the red carpet for owners with its exceptional warranty package. The vehicle is covered by a 5-year, unlimited kilometre warranty, providing fantastic peace of mind. The crucial high-voltage battery is protected for 8 years or 160,000 km. What truly sets Genesis apart is its 5-Year Care Plan, which typically includes complimentary scheduled maintenance, roadside assistance, and courtesy cars. This hassle-free ownership experience is a major draw and underscores the brand's commitment to premium service, making it a very compelling proposition.
