Overview
The Chevrolet Silverado EV WT Max Range is an absolute unit of an electric workhorse, designed for those who need maximum range and utility above all else. Built on GM's revolutionary Ultium platform, this Work Truck (WT) trim prioritises function over flash. It’s aimed squarely at the commercial market, delivering a staggering long-distance capability that few rivals can touch. While not officially sold in Europe, its impressive specs make it a benchmark for what a heavy-duty EV can achieve, though no official EU pricing is available.
What's New for 2025?
As one of the first versions rolling out, the 2025 Silverado EV WT is all-new and ready to shake up the commercial scene. The headline feature is the debut of this ‘Max Range’ configuration, pairing the largest available battery pack with the no-nonsense WT trim. This model establishes a new benchmark for electric pickup endurance. Unlike the high-end RST models loaded with creature comforts, the WT Max Range is laser-focused on delivering on the promise of a long-legged, practical, and powerful electric truck for serious work.
Design & Exterior
This truck means business, and it looks the part. The WT trim sports a rugged, utilitarian aesthetic with durable, unpainted bumpers and a purposeful stance. It’s an enormous vehicle, measuring a massive 5920 mm in length, 2165 mm in width, and 1982 mm in height, so it commands serious road presence. The design is clean and futuristic but grounded in practicality, ditching the flashy chrome of higher trims for tough black plastics. It’s built to be a reliable tool, not just a style statement on the job site.
Interior, Tech & Cargo
Inside, the WT is all about durability and function. The cabin features easy-to-clean vinyl flooring and hard-wearing plastics designed to withstand the rigours of a worksite. Despite its utilitarian nature, it’s spacious and comfortable for five occupants. The real magic is in its cargo solutions. You get a massive 1634-litre bed for hauling gear, supplemented by a clever and very useful 303-litre 'eTrunk' (frunk) under the bonnet. Tech is simple but effective, with a digital instrument cluster and a central touchscreen with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Performance & Driving Experience
Don’t let the ‘Work Truck’ name fool you; this thing can shift. Its dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, powered by two Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors, churns out a mighty 380 kW and 787 Nm of instant torque. That’s enough to launch this 3870 kg beast from 0-100 km/h in a brisk 6.5 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 182 km/h. The ride is surprisingly smooth and composed, and the one-pedal driving mode makes navigating traffic a breeze while maximizing energy regeneration.
Range, Battery & Charging
This is the Silverado EV's party piece. It packs a colossal 205 kWh usable battery, delivering a Green Cars Compare calculated real-world range of an incredible 753 km on a single charge. Efficiency is a respectable 3.67 km/kWh for its size. Thanks to its advanced 800V architecture, it can DC fast charge at a blistering 350 kW. If sold in Europe, it would use a standard CCS Type 2 port. It also features powerful Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, turning the truck into a mobile power source for tools and equipment.
Safety & Driver-Assistance Features
As a new model primarily for the US market, the Silverado EV has not yet been rated by Euro NCAP. However, it comes equipped with a solid suite of standard safety features. The Chevy Safety Assist package is included, providing Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, and Forward Collision Alert. While it forgoes the fancy hands-free Super Cruise system found on premium trims, the WT provides the core driver-assistance technologies essential for a safe and modern work vehicle.
Warranty & Maintenance Coverage
While official European warranty details are unavailable, buyers can look to GM's North American standards for guidance. This typically includes a bumper-to-bumper limited warranty for 3 years or 60,000 km. More importantly, the critical Ultium battery and electric drive units are covered by an extensive 8-year/160,000 km warranty, providing long-term peace of mind. With no oil changes and fewer moving parts, maintenance is significantly simpler and cheaper than a traditional combustion-engine truck, boosting its long-term value proposition for commercial operators.
