Overview
Say hello to the Mini Aceman EV E, Mini's funky fresh take on the all-electric compact crossover scene! Slotting neatly between the Cooper Electric and the larger Countryman, the Aceman E is designed from the ground up as an EV. It aims to blend Mini's iconic go-kart handling with zero-emission urban practicality. This 'E' trim kicks things off with an attractive starting price around €30,650 in the EU, promising a cheeky and characterful entry into premium electric motoring. It's all about that 'Charismatic Simplicity' Mini is shouting about!
What's New for 2025?
For 2025, the Mini Aceman EV E is essentially hitting the reset button – because it’s brand spanking new! This isn't just a facelift; it's a whole new model line for Mini, marking their first foray into a dedicated EV platform for a crossover. So, what’s new? Everything! From its distinctive, edgy design language and innovative circular OLED display to its sustainable interior materials and purely electric powertrain. The Aceman E, which began production in 2024, is rolling out to redefine what a compact, premium, electric Mini can be for city dwellers and beyond.
Design & Exterior
The Mini Aceman EV E is a proper head-turner, rocking Mini's 'Charismatic Simplicity' design. It's a compact SUV that’s all sharp lines and playful attitude, measuring 4079 mm long, 1754 mm wide (excluding mirrors), and 1514 mm tall. You get those iconic Mini short overhangs, a distinctive octagonal front grille (closed for EV duty, of course!), and funky LED headlights. The 'E' trim keeps things stylish yet accessible, likely sporting neat alloy wheels and signature Union Jack tail lights, making it unmistakably Mini but with a futuristic, electric twist. It's ready for the urban jungle!
Interior, Tech & Cargo
Jump inside the Aceman E, and you're greeted by a cabin that’s minimalist yet bursting with tech! The star is a stunning, world-first circular OLED touchscreen, handling infotainment with flair, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Mini's gone big on sustainable materials, ditching leather for cool, recycled textiles. Passenger space is decent for its class, seating five. For your kit, there's 300 litres of boot space, expanding to a useful 1005 litres with the rear seats folded. Sadly, there's no frunk for extra bits, but the interior still feels fresh and very Mini.
Performance & Driving Experience
The Aceman E brings that classic Mini go-kart feeling to the electric era! This front-wheel-drive funster packs a 135 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor, delivering a zesty 290 Nm of torque. That translates to a respectable 0-100 km/h sprint in just 7.9 seconds, making it nippy around town and capable enough for the motorway, with a top speed of 160 km/h. Expect direct steering, a firm but generally comfortable ride, and various regenerative braking modes to claw back some energy. It’s all about engaging, emission-free giggles!
Range, Battery & Charging
Powering the Aceman E is a 38.5 kWh (usable) battery pack, delivering a Green Cars Compare calculated real-world range of around 266 km – perfect for city hops and decent commutes, with an efficiency of 6.91 km/kWh. Charging is handled by a standard 11 kW AC on-board charger for convenient home top-ups. When you're out and about, the CCS Type 2 port can gulp down DC fast charging at up to 70 kW from its 400V architecture, getting you back on the road quickly. It's a solid setup for urban EV life.
Safety & Driver-Assistance Features
While the Mini Aceman EV E is fresh off the production line and its Euro NCAP safety rating is yet to be published, expect it to be packed with modern safety tech. Mini typically includes a good suite of standard driver-assistance systems, likely featuring forward collision warning, lane departure warning, and traffic sign recognition. More advanced goodies like adaptive cruise control, a comprehensive parking assistant, and blind-spot monitoring will probably be available on higher trims or as part of optional packages, ensuring you can spec it up for extra peace of mind.
Warranty & Maintenance Coverage
Owners of the new Mini Aceman EV E in Europe can expect a competitive warranty package. Typically, this includes a basic vehicle warranty, often around 3 years with unlimited kilometres, covering manufacturing defects. Crucially, the high-voltage battery usually gets a more extended warranty, commonly 8 years or 160,000 km, guaranteeing a certain level of capacity. As a new EV, maintenance should be lower than petrol counterparts, focusing on tyres, brakes, and cabin filters. Expect typical Mini reliability, backed by the BMW Group's engineering expertise.
