Overview
The 2025 Peugeot e-208 is a supermini that packs a serious style punch, blending chic Parisian design with zippy, zero-emissions performance. Positioned as a premium offering in the competitive small EV segment, this 50 kWh version is the smart choice for city dwellers and style-conscious drivers. It offers a compelling mix of a high-tech cabin, engaging driving dynamics, and everyday usability. New models start from around €36,525, while well-maintained used examples can be found from approximately €21,500, making it an attractive entry into electric motoring.
What's New for 2025?
For 2025, the e-208 gets a sharp facelift, bringing it in line with Peugeot's latest design language. The most striking update is the new front end, featuring the brand’s aggressive three-claw vertical light signature and a redesigned grille proudly wearing the new Peugeot shield emblem. This specific 100 kW model benefits from efficiency tweaks to its motor and battery management. Inside, a large 10-inch infotainment screen is now standard across the board, a significant upgrade that makes the already futuristic cabin feel even more modern and user-friendly.
Design & Exterior
The e-208 is a proper head-turner. Its feline-inspired stance is low and athletic, measuring 4055 mm in length, 1765 mm in width, and 1430 mm in height. The facelift adds a dose of aggression with its distinctive fang-like daytime running lights and matching three-claw tail lights. Gloss black wheel arches and trim elements contrast beautifully with the bodywork, giving it a sporty, upmarket feel. It’s a design that looks fantastic from every angle and will definitely stand out in the supermarket car park against more conservative rivals.
Interior, Tech & Cargo
Step inside and you're greeted by Peugeot's signature i-Cockpit. It’s a love-it-or-hate-it setup with a tiny steering wheel you look over to see the digital driver's display. Material quality is impressive for this class, with a mix of soft-touch surfaces and cool textures. Tech is sorted with a standard 10-inch central touchscreen featuring crisp graphics and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Space is decent up front but tight for adults in the back. The boot holds a practical 309 litres, expanding to 1118 litres with the seats folded. No frunk, sadly.
Performance & Driving Experience
Powered by a 100 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor, the e-208 is a joy to pilot around town. It sends 260 Nm of instant torque to the front wheels, making for a brisk 0-100 km/h sprint in 9.0 seconds. It feels nippy and responsive, perfect for darting through traffic. The small steering wheel enhances the sense of agility, while the ride remains comfortable and composed. The regenerative braking's 'B' mode allows for effective one-pedal-style driving in urban environments, boosting efficiency and making the drive even smoother.
Range, Battery & Charging
This model features a 46.3 kWh usable battery, delivering a Green Cars Compare calculated real-world range of around 311 km, with an efficiency of 6.72 km/kWh. Charging is handled via a CCS Type 2 port. On a standard 7.4 kW AC home charger, a full top-up takes about 7 hours, but the optional 11 kW on-board charger cuts that to around 5 hours. When you're on the move, it can guzzle electrons at up to 101 kW from a DC fast charger, zapping the battery from 20-80% in under 30 minutes.
Safety & Driver-Assistance Features
The Peugeot e-208 holds a respectable 4-star safety rating from Euro NCAP's 2022 testing. Standard safety kit is solid, including automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, and traffic sign recognition to keep you protected. For a more relaxed drive, you can option the Drive Assist pack, which bundles in adaptive cruise control with a handy stop-and-go function for traffic jams and active lane positioning. Blind-spot monitoring is also available on higher-spec versions to help with those tricky lane changes on the motorway.
Warranty & Maintenance Coverage
Peugeot provides peace of mind with a standard two-year, unlimited-kilometre vehicle warranty across Europe. Crucially for an EV, the high-voltage battery is covered by a separate, more extensive warranty for 8 years or 160,000 km, guaranteeing it will retain at least 70% of its original capacity. Running costs are minimal thanks to the electric powertrain, which requires far less maintenance than a petrol or diesel equivalent. General reliability for the e-208 is considered strong, making it a dependable and cost-effective daily driver.
