Overview
Meet the 2025 Skoda Elroq 60, Skoda's all-new compact electric SUV, ready to shake up the family EV market! Slotting neatly below the larger Enyaq, this '60' trim offers a brilliant balance of everyday usability and electric punch. With an estimated starting price around €37,990 in the EU, it’s gunning for class honours by blending Skoda’s renowned practicality with cutting-edge MEB platform technology and a fresh, robust design. It's the Czech brand's latest salvo in the EV race, and it looks like a winner.
What's New for 2025?
The Elroq is brand spanking new for the 2025 model year, marking Skoda's exciting entry into the fiercely competitive compact electric SUV segment. It debuts Skoda’s striking ‘Modern Solid’ design language, giving us a taste of the brand's future styling. This model is all about bringing the quality and cleverness of the Enyaq to a more compact and agile package. The Elroq 60 trim specifically launches as a core part of the range, offering a compelling mix of range, performance, and features from the get-go.
Design & Exterior
Rocking Skoda’s fresh ‘Modern Solid’ design language, the Elroq 60 looks properly sharp! It boasts a distinctive ‘Tech-Deck Face’ at the front and rugged-yet-sleek SUV lines that are both modern and unmistakably Skoda. Dimensions are city-friendly at 4488 mm long, 1884 mm wide (excluding mirrors), and 1625 mm tall. The ‘60’ trim should roll on some snazzy alloy wheels and feature bright LED lighting all-round, completing its cool, contemporary look, making it a head-turner on the school run or city streets.
Interior, Tech & Cargo
Inside, it’s pure Skoda: heaps of space and ‘Simply Clever’ touches in a lounge-like atmosphere, likely featuring sustainable ‘Design Selections’ for the upholstery. A big central touchscreen, probably 13 inches, and a neat digital driver’s display handle the tech, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. Passenger comfort is a priority, with ample room for five. Boot space is a family-friendly 470 litres, swelling to a van-like 1580 litres with the seats flat. No frunk on this one, though, but the main boot is plenty versatile.
Performance & Driving Experience
The Elroq 60 packs a decent punch! It’s rear-wheel drive, propelled by a smooth 150 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor. This translates to 310 Nm of instant electric torque, whisking you from 0-100 km/h in a nifty 8.5 seconds, with a top speed of 160 km/h. Expect a comfortable, composed ride – perfect for urban jaunts or motorway cruises. Selectable regenerative braking modes will help you maximise every last electron and enjoy that one-pedal driving feel in town.
Range, Battery & Charging
Powering the Elroq 60 is a 59 kWh (usable) battery pack, which, according to Green Cars Compare's calculations, delivers a practical real-world range of around 382 km. The vehicle boasts an efficiency of approximately 6.47 km/kWh. For charging, its CCS Type 2 port accepts up to 11 kW on AC, meaning a full top-up can easily be done overnight. When you're out and about, DC fast charging is a breeze at up to 165 kW, zapping the battery from 10-80% in well under 30 minutes.
Safety & Driver-Assistance Features
While Euro NCAP test results are yet to be released for this new model, the Elroq 60 is expected to aim for a top five-star rating, crammed with the latest safety tech. Standard kit should include essentials like Front Assist with autonomous emergency braking and cyclist/pedestrian detection, plus Lane Assist. Buyers will likely be able to upgrade with optional packages featuring Adaptive Cruise Control, Travel Assist for semi-autonomous driving capabilities, and Blind Spot Monitoring for extra peace of mind on the road.
Warranty & Maintenance Coverage
Skoda typically offers a competitive warranty package in Europe for its electric vehicles. Expect a comprehensive vehicle warranty, often for 2 or 3 years with unlimited kilometres, or potentially extending to 5 years with a mileage cap depending on the market. The crucial high-voltage battery is usually covered for 8 years or 160,000 km, whichever comes first, with a guarantee for retaining at least 70% of its original capacity. As an EV, maintenance should be simpler and more affordable than a traditional petrol or diesel car.
