Video Summary
The Cadillac LYRIQ has both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel-drive options, each with a 102-kilowatt-hour battery. The rear-wheel-drive model has 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque, with a range of 505 kilometers/308 miles. The all-wheel-drive version has 500 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, with a range up to 505 kilometers/307 miles.
The LYRIQ is a luxury product with key standard features. It comes standard with a heat pump, a 33-inch LED diagonal display, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, over-the-air software updates, wireless charger, a 7-speaker audio system, heated power front seats with lumbar support, driver seat memory, leatherette upholstery, a fixed full glass roof, and power liftgate.
A center wheel controls the screen, and touch screen can be used as well.
The drive is comfortable, with soft suspension, and lighter steering. Sport mode firms up the drive a little, but not a lot.
People who like Cadillac will like this. There is a bigger spectrum of people that like traditional luxury than performance vehicles. With Cadillac, you get that traditional luxury, plus you still get the performance, that 500 horsepower from the electric motors.
Styling is killer, especially from the front. It’s got an illuminated grille. Unlock the vehicle, the lights do this big dance, and is it gimmicky? It's got that Cadillac pizzazz.
With the tailgate in the back, you hit the Cadillac logo and it opens. I was loading groceries in yesterday when the door started closing on me.
What we don’t like: door handles, which aren’t working perfectly, and the absence of a rear wiper. Regular door handles will be an upgrade and very much appreciated.
Rear passengers have a lot of legroom in back.
The 2023 J.D. Power dependability study ranks Cadillac above average. Buick is near the top of the list. Overall, there are many trims to choose from.
Charging capability is at 190 kilowatt, which is like the Lexus RZ, at 150 kilowatt. This is based on a 400-volt architecture. General Motors is doing that for longevity of the battery.
The AKG sound system of the Escalade is top notch. This 19-speaker system with speakers in the headrest is a bit lower grade. It helps fill in the sound.
For Your Consideration at similar pricing: Audi Q4 e-tron, Lexus RZ, Tesla Model Y, and Genesis GV60.
This LYRIQ checks a lot of the right boxes: range, power, and sure looks good!
