Video Summary

The review is on the newly refreshed 2023 Kia Soul LX. The exterior color is referred to as Inferno Red. The Key has buttons for lock, unlock, and panic. Standard on the LX trim is cloth seating with a black interior. The front door panels have storage areas and bottle holders, power windows, locks, and mirrors as standard. In 2023, the instrument cluster has been updated to be fully digital. The front end now has a single headlight on each side with the new Kia logo, and a new grill.  This generation Kia Soul came out for 2010 and is often called the "Hamster Car" due to an advertisement. Available trim levels for 2023 include LX, S, GT-Line and EX. Base LX models start at under $20k.  The review points out impressive standard features such as lane keep assist and lane centering. The turbo engine has been discontinued, so all Kia Souls now have the same naturally aspirated, 2.0L inline-4 cylinder with 147 horsepower. Also standard is Hyundai and Kia's latest version of an automatic CVT transmission, or Intelligent Variable Transmission.  The base car curb weight is around 2900 pounds. EPA estimates for the 2023 Soul are 28MPG in the city, 33MPG on the highway, and 30 combined. A MacPherson strut system is used in the front suspension, and a torsion beam is used for the rear. Four-wheel disc brakes, with vented front brakes, are used to stop the car.
