Video Summary

The Mercedes EQE SUV is considered the most normally-looking of the bunch of EQ cars. It has a good range. It's luxurious and high on technology. The EQE SUV tested here has a mid-level variant, which is the EQE 500 4MATIC, with around 400 horsepower. The one-bow exterior design, common to Mercedes EQ cars, is less obvious on this vehicle. The "off-road" black wheel arches help to break up some of the bulk that EVs have. Design wise, this electric car is one that’s easier to consider as one to buy. A longer bonnet, a flatter front end, a more defined greenhouse, all reduce the “egg shape” and reduce bulk. The interior is very spacious. The driver can select dynamic drive modes and sound. A key new feature is that one can stream videos (using ZYNC), though it works only for the passenger side and turns off for the driver's side as it determines a driver is viewing the screen. Paddle shifters are present to control the recuperation (as in combustion engine cars). The 500 4MATIC has 400 brake horsepower, and a 0-60 time of around five seconds. Every EQS has a 96-kilowatt battery. They use magnet-based permanently synchronous motors. The interior and boot have a similar space as GLE models. The "EQ sound experiences" are found to be clever in sound. A four-link front suspension and multi-link rear suspension are included. Air matic suspension and 10-degree rear-axle steering add extra value. One finding is that there is information overload for a driver trying to navigate.
