Video Summary
The Ford Tourneo Custom has classic van design but is stylish and well-trimmed. The T6.1 transporter is not produced anymore and the electric version is Ford-based. Ford works together with VW so the Tourneo will be attractive for VW customers. The Tourneo Custom starts at 50,991 EUR. Trims available include Trend, Titanium, Active, Sport, and Titanium X. The Configurator is not complete yet, so the exact features are not transparent. The van’s dimensions are 5.45m long, 2.28m wide, and 1.98m high with a 3.50m wheel stand. The L2 longer version has a wheel stand of 3.50m. A shorter L1 version is available with a 3.10m wheel stand. Optional tinted windows are available. The reviewer fits well in the rear and the panoramic sunroof enhances the interior look. To haul larger things, seats can be folded or taken out. The vehicle can hold 0.8 tons (800 kg) payload and can tow 750 kgs or 2.5 tons with breaks. The available motorizations include a 218-hp electric engine, all with rear-wheel-drive, and a 233-hp plug-in hybrid with front-wheel-drive. A basic 2.0L EcoBlue diesel with 136 hp with front wheel and manual and an automatic transmissions and all wheel versions is also available. The 170 hp version has a 2.0L EcoBlue, but all come with 8-speed-automatic gear. Fuel usage is 8.2L/100km with 214g CO2 Emissions. Standard LED-front lights look cool and has a signature Day-Driving-Light design, the matrix version is optional. There is no mention of a matrix LED headlight version yet. The LED backlights are an option for a price. The test vehicle is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, with wheel size 16-19" available. There are 8 paint options available and the Chrome Blue metallic looks good. The interior material is hard plastic, with some underskirted sections available. Lots of storage space is present, such as the top and central glove box. For passenger comfort, it has good space and the rear seats have manual sun-blinds. Adaptive Tempomat is present, but not tested, and that the lane keeping will “steer to edge.” There are rear parking cameras. The turning circle allows 1.19m. Handling is nice in the curves of the road. The interior is pretty quiet at normal driving speeds, but you can hear it at 100kmph. The adaptive cruise control is able to recognize and apply the given traffic signs and limits. In conclusion, reviewers liked the design and that handling is enjoyable to drive and a solid product offering for the price.
