Video Summary
The Audi Q4 e-tron, a smaller electric SUV, is now available in Australia with four versions. The Q4 e-tron 45 starts the range, while also fully equipped, with an SUV price point around $85,000, but a couple of grand more for the Sportback version with its swoopy roof line.
There are 19-inch alloy wheels, but 20-inch alloy wheels if the Sportback version is chosen.
All versions have a keyless entry, push-button start, and LED lighting all around.
The trim is leather, with heated front seats and electric seat adjustment for the driver's seat.
There is tri-zone climate control and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
The interior includes two big screens: an 11.6-inch touchscreen media system and a 10.25-inch instrument cluster.
There is an eight-speaker sound system, USB ports, and a wireless phone charger.
The Q4 e-tron 55 quattro has a dual motor all-wheel-drive layout.
There are available 20 to 21-inch wheels, a fully-variable all-wheel-drive system, matrix LED lights, S-line exterior package, sports seats, dual front electric seats, and stainless steel pedals.
Great alternatives include the BMW iX1, or the BMW iX2, close to the same starting price. The Coupe style X2 or the SUV would also be good choices, as are the Cupra Tavascan or Mini Countryman E.
As the smallest electric SUV on offer from Audi in Australia right now, the Q4 e-tron plays more in the mid-sized SUV segment, at just under 4.6 meters long.
With electric tailgate, all models have boot lights and hooks, with boot capacities of 520 liters for the SUV and 535 liters for the Sportback. Boot floor is adjustable with tire repair kit, cables and storage on side of the trunk and 12V output .
The Interior is the same as other Audi models and very logical. It features semi-haptic controls on steering wheel.
However, there aren’t connected services, as many other new models do have.
It still has a seven airbags, autonomous emergency braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assistance.
Overall, the five-star ANCAP safety rated car is very likable, and easy to live with, particularly since it doesn't have some of the annoying safety technology many newer cars tend to.
There is an extra grut with an impressive range, with six-year road side assistance and reasonable servicing costs.
