2025 AUDI Q6 e-tron Roadtrip Review - Have Audi's luxury EVs finally caught up?

Video Summary

The Audi Q6 e-tron Quattro is a better buy than the SQ6 model. It gives more value for less money and still has great performance. With a dual-motor all-wheel drive, it fixes past e-tron issues.

Under the hood, there is a deep front trunk with two pockets and a nice deep front trunk. The Q6 e-tron Quattro is expected to get about 275 miles of range, but that remains to be seen. On the rear-wheel-drive Q6, 300 miles of mileage on smaller 18 inch wheels is quite easy. This model has optional 20 inch wheels.

This model can do zero to 60 in slightly under 5 seconds. The torque is more than 500 ft-lbs, and the horsepower is well over 400 on the Quattro. Power and torque numbers are great. Range is great. The vehicle has a charging port on either side, both motorized. The DC fast charging is a CCS level one.

A 270-kilowatt charger can do 10 to 80% charging in only 20 minutes. The motorized doors are seen as a possible point of failure because the motor sounds unhappy. The white logo here on the Q6 with the tons of cargo capacity and split rear seats (40 20 40) is very practical.

The black interior feels a little claustrophobic, especially given the grey roofline and panel roof.  A big screen is present and there is touch capacity to access the button. It has USB-C charging ports.

Physical window switches are preferable to the touch capacitve panels for mirrors and memory seats. The Bang & Olufsen sound system is a premium feature.

Driving the vehicle with a normal setting means there is no display of current efficiency, which is an issue that can be addressed by changing the settings.

Rough roads make the drive quality a bit harsh and cause some plastic vibration. With the smaller wheels, the ride quality is more smooth and there is the potential to get over 300 miles of range. Wind and tire noises are very minimal during highway driving.

The head up display is phenomenal. Overall, the reviewer likes the interior, but thinks the materials could use some upgrading. As a vehicle overall, he thinks the range is great.

A more affordable mainstream EV alternative would be a Ioniq 5. But, with a quiet ride, smooth handling, good range, great charging and excellent overall design, the Audi Q6 is a solid buy.
