The 2025 Subaru Solterra is a Japanese-built electric crossover. This year's model is rated number one in reliability by Consumer Reports. The Solterra is a joint venture with Toyota. For 2025, the MSRP has dropped by $6,500, with additional discounts offered. Base models are in the $38,000 range, and the Limited trim level is around $40,000 after the discounts. This new trim level offers a good value with features including 20-inch wheels, a panoramic view monitor, advanced park, and a heated steering wheel, front and rear seats. The tech on the inside is Toyota, but a lot of functionality is from Subaru. It also comes with about 8 inches of ground clearance. The range is about 220 miles, though it starts around 247 miles at full charge, but drops quickly when driving. Zero to 60 mph takes approximately 6.3 seconds. Some downsides include that back doors don’t open very wide, and the seats are not as comfortable as typical Subaru seats. The 72-kilowatt-hour battery pack is easy to charge. The back seats offer recline functionality and some USB and USB-C plugs. The vehicle lacks a frunk, and has some uninspired design elements under the hood.
