A proper electric S-Class now? New Mercedes EQS update driving REVIEW

Video Summary

The Mercedes EQS has been struggling with sales.
It’s one of the most aerodynamically efficient cars ever built and can easily exceed 600 km/400 miles on a single charge in real-world conditions.
The EQS is designed to appeal to the Chinese market, but its design has been a struggle. China is increasingly favoring domestically produced electric vehicles and more MPVs.
A new electric V-Class, an all-electric luxury generation, is coming. China prefers more room and MPV-like cars.
The upright star on the hood has pedestrian safety and anti-theft features.
The EQS can be ordered with or without the AMG line, offering flexibility in styling.
The car's special manufacturer paint. The windshield has laminated glass to help with temperature and noise.
This model can't open its hood. Filling the wiper fluid is done from a hatch on the front left quarter panel.
Rear seating comfort is a weak point in the base model, prompting an upgrade for this. An additional luxury package with microfiber head pillows increases comfort in the rear. This area has seat cooling and heat features.
The car is 5.22 meters (205 in) long.  The falling roofline and the length contribute to a drag coefficient of 0.20.
This Mercedes model has 19 to 21-inch wheels. The model reviewed had largest available wheels (21-inch).
The reviewed model can charge peak at 200 kW, but can also charge as low as 170 kW, charging time will be 30 to 32 min from 10 to 80 %. A heat pump is now standard.
There is level-2 driver assist technology with the option for level 3 but with 95 km max limit.
The reviewer prefers a constant, predictable regeneration when letting off the throttle instead of an intelligent but less predictable system.
The reviewer likes how quiet and calm it is inside. Because it has dual-paned windows and good isolation from the outside.
There is not a great build quality. Cupholders for the central unit don't seem to keep glasses in place. The phone charger is also not well designed to get your phone in and out.
Starting at just above $100,000 and with $30,000 in options gets you to $130,000 on one "nicely specced".
