Video Summary

The BYD Dolphin Surf is described as compact, high-tech, and affordable. Its front-end design is deemed better looking than previous BYD models. The car's exterior design is said to be sea-themed, though that’s not necessarily apparent. The charge point is conveniently located.
The BYD Dolphin Surf is a four-door car with four seats and plenty of headroom in the back. It has a large and deep trunk/boot with a surprising amount of storage. For size comparison, it can be compared with the Hyundai Inster, Renault 5, Dacia Spring and Volkswagen ID.2.
There are three variants of the vehicle: Active, Boost, and Comfort. The Active variant has a 30-kilowatt-hour battery, with a WTLP range of about 130 miles, and an urban driving range close to 200 miles. The comfort version has a 43-kilowatt-hour battery with a WTLP range of around 190 miles with a better range in the city.
While more plastic-y than other cars, it is easy to clean.
BYD claims that one of the features is that this car could be charged once a week, depending on the person and how much they used it.
It has Apple CarPlay and numerous storage compartments. It features physical buttons for controls like heating, fan speed, and volume. The turning circle is really tight at 10.5 meters, giving it great maneuverability.
The car utilizes BYD's latest blade batteries, which are LFP, making packaging more efficient. The new batteries use no cobalt or nickel, are very safe, and have many charge and discharge cycles. The BYD is primarily a battery company, so the electric systems in this vehicle are well tested. The car is overall a good, simple electric vehicle.
