Video Summary
The Audi A6 E-Tron is an electric car. The A6 appeared in 1994, replacing the Audi 100. This is a facelift of the C4 Audi 100. It got a new name: Audi A6.
Audi stated that odd-numbered cars will be combustion-engine cars, while even-numbered cars are electric. It is electrically powered only.
The front headlights resemble Hyundai or BMW, and this shape does not fit an Audi. The front of the car appears somewhat strange.
The back looks much better, however, the Audi logo is illuminated, which is considered controversial. It is not a brake light, just a decor.
The next-generation A6 will be an A7.
The test version is S-line, however, the differences between S-line and normal are minimal. The Audi A6 has the option to select various light signatures, with eight options available. The lights shine very well and have long and bright beams.
This version comes with digital mirrors. The mirrors can be folded electronically, a newer feature than the Q8 E-Tron.
The previous Audi A6 looks much better, although this new design is based on taste. The front of the car looks weird.
A6's new e-tron, the name looks like the last car, but this version makes it a new electric car. The front headlights have a shape that reminds you of Hyundai, this shape isn't well suited to Audi. A friend commented, "It looks like you know her but can't remember from where".
The Audi A6 is 4.92 m long and 1.92 m wide. The ground clearance ranges from 10 to 14.5 cm, and all have air ride adjustment and come with pneumatic tires.
For comparison, the petrol-powered A6 is 1 cm longer and 4 cm narrower. The E-Tron's wheelbase is 2 cm shorter. There are no manual folding mirrors. Electric models have even-number names.
As for the trunk: As is to be expected in a good electric car, it also has a frunk: 27 L for charging cables and small items. The back trunk is 502 L (60 L less than a combustion Audi A6). It can also be expanded to make the surface nearly perfectly flat. There are 2 cargo hooks in back.
As for the back seats, there isn't much room. You can't comfortably tuck feet under the seats, and legs are held in an uncomfortable position. There's no handle at the top to hold on to. The plastic on the door handles isn't great. While the car is large, it is strangely uncomfortable.
There are five displays, three as optional extras. They aren't anything special. One key issue is a 1-second delay per click, making it annoying. All 5 do not work well and are not recommended. The system is relatively easy to learn. There are only basic light customization options.
Quality of materials are top-notch and well put together, with no squeaking while driving. The aerodynamics are fantastic. This is an especially heavy, and has only about 750 kg of towing capacity. All electrical models are very heavy.
At 120 km per hour, energy consumption is 23 kWh. Audi A6 Etrons are one of the most economical electric Audi models. A route from Warsaw to Zakopane is feasible on a single charge.
The base version has 286 HP and 75.8 kWh net. Higher trim e-tron performance models have 367 HP and 95 kWh net. Prices start at 307,000 PLN or 299,000 PLN for the Sportback version, costing more than an equivalent petrol engine Audi A6.
This test drive reports that a 0-100 acceleration result was around 5.8 seconds.
Audi's next-generation A6 car has a number of electrical and mechanical problems. It also rides higher on the road than a standard gasoline model. The overall conclusion is that although it's expensive, has some oddities, and is all-electric, it is very well made.
