Audi Q8 E-Tron 50 Range Test

Video Summary

The new Audi Q8 e-tron 50 quattro’s usable battery capacity is more than the pre-facelifted e-tron 55. During the range test, the consumption was 28.1 kilowatt hours per 100 kilometers, which is pretty high. There was a headwind of 2-3 meters per second. With improved weather and a tailwind, the consumption rate is hoped to drop. The reviewer is targeting 25 kilowatt hours per 100 kilometers, but admits that is maybe optimistic. This model has virtual mirrors, which should give slightly more range. The reviewer, however, does not like the virtual mirrors. The Q8 e-tron has a tautness, a sense of solidity, and precision in its driving.

After the range test, the battery was at 38%. At a 225kW charger, charging speed was 143kW, charging up to 43% quickly. This new 50’s charging curve is slower compared to the old 55.

The theoretical range under the weather conditions was 339 kilometers. The 50 is more efficient compared to the 55. Smaller wheels is an option to go with. The car is built on the MLB Evo platform, which underpins a list of other cars like the Bentley Bentayga, and Porsche Cayenne.
