The BMW iX2 is the second generation X2 but BMW’s first electric iX2. Compared to the X1, the X2 is longer and lower with a sporty body.The iX2 may arrive in Hong Kong at an inopportune time due to new tax policies negatively affecting its price, and it is almost at a point where people can buy the 5 series.
There is a front-wheel-drive edition, the eDrive20, and it has a longer driving range.
Regarding the iX2 xDrive30 M Sport Edition, on paper, its specifications are not outstanding when compared to similar electric vehicles.
The iX2 has a great chassis and overall driving feel. The car has a low center of gravity, offering better driving dynamics. However, the steering feedback is not as strong as expected from BMW.
The exterior has some features similar to the X6. The Coupe-like rear and relatively squat car body make for an image that is different than normal SUVs.
The interiors, which the M Sport Edition features, are special with aluminum trimmings, an Iconic Package Pro, and the head-up display, but they are also similar to the X1. There are many patterns in the interior trim, including a lot of textures. The wireless charging area has a pattern, with 20 inch light alloy wheels, and two-tone colors. The iX2 utilizes the latest iDrive 9, which is based on Android. This comes with integrated navigation and some apps, but doesn't include Apple CarPlay.
The rear seats have relatively small headroom because of the sloping roof. The legroom in the back is much better if the middle seating area isn't utilized.
A boost paddle helps the driving a lot, because the electric car actually has a high limit. During wet days the traction and stability control have been helpful to push harder.
The iX2 is expensive, but it's also enjoyable to drive.
