Video Summary

Here's a summary of the YouTube video review:

This review focuses on the BYD Seal U DM-i, a plug-in hybrid easily recognized by its distinctive grille.
Previous in-depth driving reviews of the vehicle in the Tonaus region is linked in the video description. The video aims to determine the electric-only range with a fully charged battery.
Combined figure is 80km, or 113 purely for city driving. It will be driven from Neustrelitz to Passerwalk, a distance over 70km, to test its purely electric capabilities.

CCS makes charging easy; it allows one to top up during breaks on long journeys. It starts off fully equipped in the boost version, starting from 38,900 euros.
All equipment is standard; only the color needs to be chosen.

DMI stands for dual-mode intelligent, highlighting how this plugin is different from standard mixing technology, as the battery can be charged by its blade battery with a capacity of 18.3 kilowatts per hours.
It essentially needs a hybrid drive system, specifically an input gearbox that incorporates both an electric motor for operation, and a combustion engine.
The combustion engine primarily acts like a generator for the battery. Power delivered by these two things comes to 160 kilowatts, combined with 300 meter newtons of torque. 1.5-liter four cylinder gasoline engine turbocharged delivers 72 kilowatts.

In a following video, the car will be tested at the IAA in Hanover to test the hybrid consumption. The car can achieve 1080km here, loaded with a full tank and full battery.

The car has Michelin 19inch 235/50 tires. The curb weight is a little under 2 tonnes. The interiors are mostly simulated leather, with nice ambient lighting. Technology includes Spotify and Android auto/Apple car play connectivity, though they had an issue connecting, a 15 inch infotainment screen. The display is clear and functions well. Cruise control is on the intelligent autopilot system.
It has some incredible assist systems on board, like lane keeping, steering assist, and emergency braking assist. 360 degree camera shows view from under the car.

There are two electric driving modes: one where you can drive purely electrically until battery is air quotes empty and one is an HEV mode, where the car decides when to engage the engine or not.

The review shows after driving a test distance of 70.5 KM, the power battery indicator shows 25% of the power capacity remaining, indicating the distance traveled with electricity only is less than what is advertised for combined driving. With 25% charge, there are 12km left. On this test with 17.2 kilowatt hours per 100 kilometers and a driving style with medium speed 50kmH, the car can go 84 km on a full charge.

One may wish for more lateral support in the seats, with leather being replaced with simulated leather as well, but the materials do look clean, and has nice green stitching. It has a sunroof that’s easy to operate. Overall, a great value car.
