Cupra Born e-Boost 77 KWh - 5 things i LOVE and HATE about the little car with the GIANT BATTERY

Uploaded 2 years ago by Jimi Rosa

Video Summary

The Cupra Born is a Volkswagen ID.3 with some steroids and some tribal.

It shares technology with the ID.3 and has a permanent magnet motor on the rear axle and is rear-wheel drive.

In Denmark, one can choose between two battery sizes. The larger one in the car reviewed has a total capacity of 82 kWh and a net capacity of 77 kWh. It is the same size as the current ID. Buzz uses.

The Born has a WLTP range of 548 kilometers.

It differs from the ID.3 with a younger and more aggressive design.

The copper-colored ornamentation characterizes the German-produced Spaniard.

The car offers reasonable space in the cabin, good seats, a reasonable luggage compartment, and no frunk.

There is no option for a tow bar.

The quality of the car gives a good German impression.

The entertainment system is okay but not among the best. The navigation gives the estimated state of charge, but is not as easy to use as in a Tesla.

Five things loved:
- Volkswagen officially adopting Android automotive into their cars.
- Drive modes, with a direct Cupra button to set everything up for partying.
- Design, with sporty skirts and diffuser look in the rear.
- Rear wiper.
- The dark headliner.

Five things disliked:
- Steering wheel buttons.
- Climate control.
- No paddles to alter regen.
- View or what’s missing out the rear window.
- No Frunk.

The charging test claimed that the car can peak at 135 kW and charge from 10% to 80% in 36 minutes.

The long-term consumption was measured in mixed driving at 210-watt hours per kilometer and in 4 degrees Celsius weather.

At that consumption, with a 100% charge, the estimated range is 366 kilometers.

In the testing, the charging was observed: over 31 minutes, the state of charge went from 10% to 80%.

During noise level tests, the car measured 1 to 2 dB higher than a Skoda Enyaq, but more overall more quiet than a Tesla Model 3.

Zero to 100-kilometer acceleration time measured in 6.96 seconds.

The car is enjoyable to drive. But also quite pricey when compared to a Tesla Model 3 or a Tesla Model 3 Long Range.
