The Lotus Emira i4 is the entry-level car in the Lotus lineup. This model is powered by a Mercedes-AMG 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo engine. An eight-speed twin-clutch paddle-shift gearbox is also from AMG. Japanese mechanicals have been replaced with German ones.Unlike its predecessor, the engine is not showcased in a glass cabinet. Instead, one finds a rubber bathmat where the engine used to be. The reviewer describes the AMG M139 engine as compact but powerful, deserving nicknames like "Firecracker" or "Red Hot Reaper Pepper." Many aspects of Mercedes A45-AMG do not appeal to the reviewer, as it looks cheap and nasty. The steering wheel is touch-sensitive, which ruins its reputation for quality interiors. The rear wing rattles and cracks upon closing. The new Emira model is lighter by 12 kg compared to V6. Also, the engine is closer to the car's midpoint. With a turbocharger, comes turbo lag. A five-star wanted level in a car chase from GTA can be experienced when opening the window. The interior styling and gear leaver design are not good, it is expensive at 81,000 pounds.
This review shows why a test drive is needed. It lacks the absolute ferocity in an A45; it's a super fun engine to get along with, it has bags of personality. It has traction, and it sounds so angry, but overall it is a highly sought after complete sports car.
