Here is the summary of the YouTube video:
The G-Wagon traditionally conveys wealth and superiority. The reason for Mercedes building an electric version is to cater to buyers who care about saving the planet or exploring it responsibly. There has been zero compromise made by engineers, who sought to make the electric version as good as, or better than, the gasoline-powered model off-road.
The on-road performance isn't too much of a concern since the G-Wagon wasn't deliberately designed to be a great road car. It rolls around a lot and does not have a good ride. The aerodynamics are poor.
To spot an electric G, look for these visual differences: - Black headlight surrounds - An aero-ish grill - Steeper ramp on the bonnet to deflect air - The G 580 badge (representing the horsepower) - A spoiler above the roof gutter reduces wind noise - Classic door handles, but with keyless entry - Side has a vent in the side to help it cut through the air - Reversing camera is now housed near the license plate.
The spare tire cover isn't a spare tire. It's where the charging cable goes.
Under the bonnet, there is a sound speaker to mimic aggressive, "get out of my way" grumbles. New technology in the G includes many new screens and readouts. It allows you to look through the bonnet like Land Rovers had in the past. Off-road excursions can be recorded. The G turn function allows you to lock up the rear wheels, so the fronts can pivot the car around like a tank or ballet dancer, and allows you to drive one side of the car forward and the other side backwards. You can only turn 720 degrees, as anything further could damage the car.
There are various trim and stitching options. It has Dolby atmos sounds and ambient lighting. Overall, Mercedes has tried to keep a G-Wagon feel to the inside of the electric version. A view all the way to Mexico, as well as aggressive and entitled feelings come standard.
The battery has armored protection to help prevent the car from setting off half of Nevada. To help in off-roading, you can use the undercarriage as a seat, to help the car to move around and pivot. The car cannot tow, and has a 460-kilometer range. There are four motors, each with its own two-speed gearbox, one for range, one for low range. This allows greater adaptability in all situations.
