Video Summary
The new Vauxhall Corsa Electric is more grown-up, modern, sharper, and neater in appearance.
The visor at the front end of the car makes it look like Vauxhall's current range.
The badges on the back have been moved into the middle.
There is a shark fin antenna on the roof.
It has black 17-inch wheels, and comes in graphic grey.
The interior is still recognizably a Corsa.
A larger 10-inch touchscreen is featured in most models; older models had a 7-inch screen.
There have been updates to the infotainment system with more powerful processing, and graphics are sharper.
The seven-inch driver information display also has sharper graphics.
There are new seat fabrics, a different steering wheel, wireless phone mirroring, wireless charging, voice control, 3D maps, over-the-air updates, and the "My Vauxhall" app for scheduling charging and checking the car remotely.
Even in the lower GS grade, the car has LED lights all round and a lot of 'toys'.
Higher-spec models have heated seats and a heated wheel, as well as keyless entry, extra driver assistance systems, USBs in the back seats, a rear parking camera, and Intellilux LED headlights.
The boot space is 267 liters, and it is bigger than a Mini Electric’s at 211.
The battery has grown from 46.6 kWh to 48.1, increasing the WLTP range from 222 miles to 255, a 15% increase.
There is a 15% increase in power and more torque, resulting in 154 brake horsepower.
An 11 kW AC charger comes as standard on all models; topping up at a relevant public AC spot should be more useful.
There is also 100 kW of DC charging ability, which can charge from 10% to 80% in around half an hour.
There is an 8-year or 100,000-mile battery ticket, and three years or 60,000 miles on the rest of the car.
The model includes an Octopus Electroverse card for easy access to public chargers.
The current Vauxhall Electric costs just under £32,000 for the GS and £34,500 for the Ultimate.
The big worry is the car might be a little pricey.
