The Ford Explorer is designed and made in Europe, specifically in Cologne, and it is only available in Europe with EV side things. The black color makes it harder to see some of the nice design features on it. The real bluff front end has 'Explorer' molded across the top, the Ford badge is large, blue and white, not silver, and everything is gloss black. It has LED matrix lights in this upper level trim, which has a 77-kilowatt-hour battery. It lacks a front trunk. The length is 4.5 meters long, 10 centimeters shorter than its Volkswagen cousin because it is based on the MEB platform. Wheel options are 19, 20, or 21 inches, this particular one has 20 inch wheels. The wing mirrors are Volkswagen-style. A floating roof design is nearly impossible to see in the black version due to the gloss-black a-pillar, b-pillar; that is consistent across every color. Charging is on the rear right side; it can charge up to 11 kilowatts AC, 135 kilowatts DC for the 77-kilowatt hour battery and 185 for the 79 kilowatt hour. Ten to eighty percent charge in 26 minutes. Rear seating has fully sculpted seats, a pocket behind them, with the seat set for 188 centimeters. Feet go under, knees touch, two adults fit nicely in the back but three won’t, and the roof is decent with a sun roof and no blind and an electro chromatical frost ability. Two USB types A is a hundred percent flat floor and rear vents, 40/60 with a ski hatch allows access to the boot. There is sub floor area underneath. The boot is smaller at 450 L compared to a VW ID. The steering wheel is squared off with a flat top and flat bottom; with touch sensitive buttons that may cause you to accidentally activate them at first. The front suspension has been tweaked with the roll bar, rear suspension and stiffness improved. It has a Sync Move screen that pivots, and a "My Private Locker," but no 1-pedal driving. It does have automatic braking available through the menu. The car can tow up to 1,200 kilograms depending on the trim and has rear- and all-wheel drive options. For a suburban/urban family car, 15.5 kWh per 100 km fuel economy with 497 km total driving range is decent at 11 degrees C ambient temperature.
