Video Summary
-The car reviewed is now called the Q8 e-tron, an update from the Audi e-tron. - It’s the Q8 e-tron Sportback. - Typically, 10 to 20 percent of e-trons are Sportback. - There is now a model designation etched into the side B pillars. - The chassis tuning B-pillar forward should feel the same as the SUV. - The charging speed is updated to 170 to 175 kilowatts. - It's good to have two on-board chargers. - The upgrades include features like extra glazing on the windows, nice leather, and a good sound system. - The car has a larger, 106-kilowatt-hour usable battery pack, 20 kilowatt-hours more. - The power on the boost is the same, but more torque is achieved. It can hold that peak power a bit longer. The driver is noting just 5.2-second 0-60. - The chassis tuning feels better than before, and now, the handling is described as more agile with improved steering. - All-wheel drive and adaptive cruise assist with lane guidance are standard. - Range, however, is tight as -6 % of arrival battery was calculated. - There is better driving assistance, as that is now standard in the vehicle. - In the reviewer's opinion, a fully specced-out version of the Premium Q8 e-tron is the most desirable choice. - From the styling perspective, the presenter finds the front grille too busy with the new body color, and that an all-black style would be preferable. - The Bang & Olufsen sound system remains top-notch. - When hypermiling, the reviewer was seeing up to 2.9 miles per kilowatt hour. - It gets a high five as a wonderful luxury EV with lots of over-engineered detail and design elements that add to the experience. - Compared to Model X and iX, where this car fits in to those is, while those 2 do everything on paper better (range, speed), those are just numbers on paper. This reviewer doesn’t think BMW did that as well. The suspension here, that feels 10x better in its handling around, so the handling, the steering and the power really makes this a joy. - It's thought that a future software refresh could enhance the Q8 e-tron’s ride. - The increased battery capacity means it's possible to use an 80-ampere on-board charger. - While there’s much to love, the car’s range was considered disappointing. - The steering and drivetrain feel is thought to be better than that of a BMW iX and especially better than a Tesla Model X.
