Video Summary
The Nissan Ariya 87 kWh FWD EV was tested for its actual battery capacity. The tested Ariga’s available energy from 100% to shutdown was only about 80 kWh, while it is specified as having 87 kWh net. Other versions of the Ariya also seem to contain this buffer. There is a certain power limit which appears as a power meter. In spite of the EV having “zero” listed as its power left in the battery it can often still drive and maintain certain speeds. The car may shut down unexpectedly when it reaches “zero”. Also, even at 0%, the heater and other features continue to function as desired.
