Kia EV3 Long Range eco drive below the speed limits

Uploaded 3 months ago by Bjørn Nyland

Video Summary

The Kia EV3 is being driven on a typical route at 80 km/h. There is about 1.6% error on the GPS speed reading. Without AC the cabin temperature is 16.5 degrees Celsius. A typical range shown is 299km with a max of 722km claimed. The volume control is difficult to use. The current range GOM equals the minimum; this makes the reviewer wonder if they have been hammering the car. The GPS mapping has had a knob removed for twisting to zoom in and out. The reviewer’s measurements showed the car has a reported 77.2 kWh capacity. The auto-steer didn’t work on certain roads but did work on the highway, but made the car veer to the middle. It’s a cold sunny day during the test and the reviewer will measure how much the car has lost over the night. A cool thing is that the car has great off-road potential and an excellent backup camera with forward view. The overall WLTP range could not be achieved, with a total of 532 km driven with 145 Wh/km. The range shown could be somewhat optimistic, especially since the car is boxy and has a 0.26 drag coefficient, making it susceptible to bad weather. A real-world cruise test was attempted.
