Lotus Eletre Range Problems - 180 miles is not 310!

Uploaded 1 year ago by Geoff Buys Cars

Video Summary

The Lotus Eletre’s UK website had an inaccurate range of over 300 miles. Almost all reviews online state the WLTP range as 310-340 miles. The actual WLTP range is 254-280 miles. European websites contain the correct information back to April 2023 in kilometers. The battery is bigger than Tesla’s.

The buyer was given inaccurate range figures by Lotus & the dealer; they wouldn’t have bought the Eletre R over an S if they'd known the real-world range. With a 10-degree Celsius driving temperature and careful acceleration, the Eletre gets 180 miles on a full charge.

The owner requested to reject the car, but Lotus Colchester refused, instead insisting on their right to repair it. The car has numerous faults. A tire and alloy wheel insurance and gap insurance costing £1,298 was taken, but never provided. The car should be returned under distance selling regulations.

The sales guide and Lotus stated the range was 310 miles on their website. The car should be returned as specifications are different from what they were at the time of order and it’s not as advertised. There are other faults with the car, some minor, but some that are serious. Some issues are software-related, but the car is already on the latest software.
