The Lucid Gravity electric SUV is launching into series production as the brand's second model. The gravity has been more challenging to develop than the air sedan. The SUV provides space for up to seven passengers. It will offer a range of over 700 kilometers. Two trims will be available, with the higher-end version, priced near $95,000, currently accessible. The entry-level version should arrive in late 2025.The Gravity Grand Touring trim will be the first on sale with a dual motor powertrain that produces 828 horsepower. The acceleration to 100 kilometers per hour takes three and a half seconds. Its 900 volt electrical system has been improved from that of the Air Sedan.
The battery has a capacity of about 120 kilowatt hours.
In 15 minutes, a charge can yield 320 kilometers of range thanks to a 350 kilowatt charging station.
Bidirectional charging can supply power to a home, supporting a load of up to 19.2 kilowatts. The maximum range reaches 724 kilometers, provided one maintains a moderate driving style.
The multi-link system, rather than a rear suspension, with integral links supports optional rear wheel steering. To improve comfort and handling, the Gravity has an air suspension system with five height modes. The base Grand Touring trim uses Bilstein adaptive dampers paired with single chamber air springs.
For an extra $2900, dampers are upgraded to a three-chamber design and rear wheel steering is added in the Dynamic Handling package. A unique traction and stability control system that processes data rapidly contributes to excellent ride smoothness, while the Terrain Mode ensures excellent traction on challenging surfaces.
The Gravitiy SUV offers excellent ride smoothness and can overcome even the most damaged roads. A low drag coefficient of only 0.24 is remarkable for such a large SUV.
The Gravity’s dimensions are: 5034 mm long, 1994 mm wide, 1656 mm high, and a wheelbase of 3035 mm. It has 110 mm of height adjustment and a maximum ground clearance of 244 mm for excellent off road capability.
The payload exceeds 680 kilograms and the towing capacity can reach up to 2720 kilograms. There are five seat and seven seat configurations. By reorganizing the Air model's battery and redistributing its 22 modules, Lucid has created a completely flat floor in the second and third rows, offering more leg room than full-size European luxury SUVs.
Nine color options are offered. The 34 inch dashboard screen is now a single continuous touch screen. The heads-up display features augmented reality.
When the seats are folded, the Gravity offers 3171 liters of cargo space, and the front trunk adds 226 liters.
Production of the 2025 Lucid Gravity has begun. The Grand Touring trim, with a range of 724 km, will start at $96,500, while the Touring version, set to launch in the second half of 2025, will start at $81,500. A three motor version is also expected in the future.
