Mercedes-Benz EQA 250+ Review : The Luxury EV You’ve Been Waiting For? | PowerDrift

Video Summary

The EQA is the smallest, most affordable electric Mercedes-Benz available. It is just a GLA behind the grill and is based on the same MFA2 platform. Its dimensions are almost identical to the GLA.

The EQA 250+ is front-wheel drive and makes 190 electric horsepower. Performance has been impacted by the extra weight, and the EQA is slower to 100 kmph by over a second when compared to the GLA. However, it never feels slow in the city or on the highway. The ride, unlike some Mercedes-Benz SUVs, is supple and comfortable.

The WTLP range is 560 km, which translates to a more realistic 450 km. Two types of EVs are converted petrol/diesel cars and born-electric cars. The EQA is a converted electric vehicle.

The interior includes a 10.25-inch infotainment screen and digital gauges with cool graphics. It has a 12-speaker Burmester sound system, ambient lighting, and very good material quality.

The rear seat is a dealbreaker because the floor is elevated, and the seating position is awkward; this makes it better for kids than adults. Boot space is not ideal for long journeys at 340 liters. It is expected to cost 65-70 lakh rupees. The car does not come with a full ADAS suite. The performance is only adequate and space is a genuine concern.

The Volvo XC40 Recharge or Kia EV6 should also be considered as alternatives to the EQA. If you need an electric Mercedes and rarely use the rear seats, the EQA is premium-feeling.
