MG Marvel R Performance, ID3, Polestar 2 & e-Soul charging comparison

The MG Marvel R has approximately a 70kWh net battery capacity. Right off the charging line, the car is taking about 79kW, an improvement over the ZS EV. Compared to the ID3’s smaller battery, the ID3 charges way faster. Compared to Polestar 2, the Marvel R outperforms, even though the price is similar. e-Soul charges the slowest. ID3 charges very quickly. Polestar 2 also charges quite quickly.

The Marvel R shows a pretty nice and flat charging curve, staying relatively constant throughout the charging session. The charging curve on the Marvel R is better than the ZS EV. The Polestar has a step curve. The ID3’s curve is more even like Tesla. Beyond 80%, the charge starts slowing down considerably. At 78%, the Marvel R is taking 55kW, which is relatively solid. Chinese cars usually have slower charging than western cars. You can at least get to 80% relatively fast with Marvel.
