Video Summary

The car is a new MINI Cooper S with John Cooper Works trim. It has animated headlights and black grille. There are no plastic wheel arches and the “S” on the boot lid is green.

The charging port allows up to 11 kW AC or 95 kW DC charging. The car is powered by a 218 hp electric motor driving the front wheels with juice from a 49.2 kWh battery.

The car features a round OLED touch interface that is very bright and responsive, with a head-up display. Activating the car requires twisting a key-like switch.

It has a huge panoramic roof, seats in recycled knitted fabric and synthetic leather with red stitching.

The dashboard has knitting, storage and there's a 600 Watts sound system with 10 speakers and a subwoofer. The music experience is at a whole new level, quiet.

Other features include:
- 360 camera mode with park assist
- Range variation displayed according to driving style
- Heated steering wheel and seats
- Wireless charging tray with 2 USB-C ports
- 12V charge port
- Double cup holder and mini center storage

Performance:
- 0 to 100 km/h takes 6.7 seconds
- Top speed is limited to 170 km/h
- The best average highway consumption is 14.5 kWh / 100 km
- 300 km should be possible with this car
- There is an impressive adaptive cruise control system
- The car features lane assist and active steer assist

The virtual assistant “Spike” is used for communication, but might not respond well. The car comes with AirConsole games, which works well with a smartphone as controller, perfect for those charging sessions.

There are 40/60 foldable rear seats with ISOFIX anchors. However, headroom is tight in the back.

The car has side privacy glass that extends into a rear spoiler and lovely animated rear LED lights. The car is painted Legend Grey with Chilli Red mirrors and roof. At low speeds the car makes a humming sound.

On the highway, a range of 300 km should be possible; you don’t need to use the pedals at all, but in a straight line the MINI is not lightning fast. The car is struggling to get grip when accelerating in the wet, front wheel drive and instant EV torque, but it actually feels faster than it is on curvy b-roads, the direct steering and instant throttle response are nice.
