The NIO EL6 is the little brother of the EL7. The car is 4.8 meters long, fairly wide, and fairly tall. It is yet another SUV. The EL6 does not have air suspension, unlike the EL7, but it does feature adaptive dampers that adjust several thousand times per second.The car rides smoothly over bumps without too much bouncing and feels fairly quiet. It feels like an SUV but isn’t as boat-like as other SUVs. The turning circle is fairly good. The steering in the NIO is very light.
The car’s turn signal functions like Tesla’s system, and it takes some getting used to. This car also makes the car appear transparent on the 360 camera.
The tires produced a road noise that was not bothersome. On the rough parts of the highway, the side with smooth asphalt was quieter, a “smooth as” ride. With the settings in Sport Plus acceleration can get to 4.5 seconds.
The turning head for NIO, the “Nomi Halo,” is cheaper than the head that is turning around. With the settings in comfort mode and with the throttle to the floor, there is an artificial delay in the throttling.
