The Polestar 4 is a massive crossover that looks like a coupe or a saloon. It boasts interesting exterior design features like two-part headlights, a body-colored, illuminated badge, and 22-inch wheels, plus a Tesla-style camera. The side mirrors are frameless and rotate independently on their hinges. The car lacks a rear window, making its rear look super distinctive. The interior is incredibly upmarket with interesting architecture like a bridge across the center console and plenty of storage space underneath.It is equipped with a 15.4-inch touchscreen and a 10.2-inch driver display. Too many layers are needed to use simple functions on the touchscreen. Though there are no physical buttons on the dash, there is a volume knob. While front space is good, thanks to the battery pack, the floor is high, impacting rear seat space. The rear seat has good legroom and a flat floor and headroom is very good due to a panoramic roof.
Prices start at just under £60,000 for the single motor version and around £67,000 for the dual motor version. The single motor version has 268 brake horsepower and a 0-62 time of 7.1 seconds. The dual motor performance pack has 536 brake horsepower and gets to 62 in 3.7 seconds.
The single motor can get 385 miles out of a charge, the dual motor gets a pretty good 367 miles. It hits 200 kW on a DC fast charge and does 10-80% in 30 minutes.
The ride is a bit firm; the ride isn't as comfortable as most rivals. It is also not as fun to drive. Overall refinement is also not whisper-quiet as you might expect. The car achieves four stars in this review.
