Positives and negatives: 36,000 Mile Review of 2022 Chevy Bolt EV

Uploaded 1 year ago by Spinner EV

Video Summary

After 34,967 miles, no noticeable battery degradation is evident; it provides the same range as when new. The charging speed is also still the same as when new. Not having to buy gasoline is one of the biggest positives of owning the car. Not having to stress about gasoline prices anymore is another huge advantage. It's great that there's not a whole lot of maintenance to do on an electric car. The biggest negative experience with the electric car has been the somewhat slow charging speed on long road trips, up to 54 kilowatts per hour at its peak of the charge curve from about 10 percent to 55 percent. On the other hand, that can be offset by using recharge stops as built-in opportunities to stop, recharge, and video. The Bolt’s drives are great, comfortable, and, more importantly, affordable. The original equipment tires and windshield wipers remain. If the car is floored at a stop light, the front tires will spin a bit. A hail storm caused a few dings on the car. Overall, it was a very good, smart purchase.
