Video Summary

Here is a summary of the YouTube video about a review of an electric car.

The video is a review of the new Rivian R1T Dual Motor Max Pack on a road trip of approximately 1,000 miles from Truckee, California to Fort Collins, Colorado. A key focus is testing the new charging performance and energy app for the Rivian.

The vehicle is a Dual Motor Max Pack Launch Edition R1T in El Cap Granite with 22-inch dark sport wheels and no tonneau cover. EPA range of 420 miles, which is more efficient than the R1S.

A new energy app has been released with improved charging performance for all Rivian batteries in Gen 2 and Gen 1 Max vehicles. This software was recently released for Gen 2 cars and Gen 1 Max pack.

The Rivian software team in Palo Alto designs and engineers the software and electrical hardware for Rivian vehicles.

The review will include testing the charging performance of all Rivian batteries, including the new energy app on the road. The aim is to improve the charging performance for LFP, large pack, and max pack vehicles. It’s not known if the original large pack will have these improvements. The new software update also improved charging for top charging, so going from 80-100% charges much faster.

Charging is to be at close to full power.

Rivian has massively improved top charging performance from 80% to 100%. The vehicle now also provides tips and tricks, pack temperature, charging limit, etc.

The reviewer also plans to go to Bonneville Salt Flats.

In this test there were high spikes and lots of Regen.

It was noted that a Rivian R1T is more efficient than an R1S.

The charging rate was .64 KWh. It was at a Rivian Adventure Network at a charging site in Truckee. The vehicle charges to 100% quickly. It was also a nice configuration, according to the video.

The reviewer could not find a Tesla Supercharger, so will be using Electrify America. For DC fast charging with a 350-KW max station.

Later, the vehicle runs into an Electrify America station on the trip but many of the charging stations do not work.

The battery had heated up too much. It’s an area they can dial in better as stated in the video.

The reviewer concludes that the brand has a great new update with an enhanced charging experience and app, and hopes he is correct about the high quality of it.
