Video Summary
Summary: This is a review of the 2025 Volkswagen ID. Buzz. The model is electric-only and is available in rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, known as 4Motion. Limited real technical information exists for this car.
Technical Review: - Rear-wheel drive models have an APP 550 permanent magnet synchronous motor. - All-wheel drive models have an AKA 150 asynchronous motor in the front. - The car has a 91-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery under it. - Thermal management system is average. - When the battery gets too hot, AC refrigerant cools the coolant that then cools the battery. - If the car is too cold, a high voltage PTC heater heats the coolant, which in turn heats the battery.
Things I like: - Two bright LED lights in the back. - Rear seats are removable - Steering wheel is super nice. - Impressive acceleration
Things I do not like: - The Range, it is not good, it drops off really fast. The test found 89 miles between 79 percent battery and 8 percent battery. - Small mirrors that don't allow much visibility - In cold weather, heating up the battery takes a lot of effort - The car is heavy 7,400 lbs and the motor isn't big enough for that weight and the shape isn't aerodynamic, it is just a block. - The electric motor for the cabin is over complicated. - Touch capacity volume and temperature controls are annoying. - Entrance/exit and small step is not well thought out. - Uses Drum Brakes
This is one of the coolest cars we’ve ever had. The test was a little unfair, but the test results are very strange. This is the coolest thing on the planet but the high price is a major problem. You do not see a lot of cars made the way it does and you cannot help but smile when you look at it.
The ID Buzz is a car you can enjoy and use simultaneously. However it is a very sophisticated electric car but it does not get results. The range is compromised when tested. The car is just not perfect. I love it.
