Video Summary

The Smart #1 was driven until the battery reached 0% on the highway at 130 km/h to simulate a long journey. The goal was to demonstrate what happens during a long trip with an electric car, which can take approximately 18 hours to complete the recording of such video.

During the journey, it was noted that in 1 hour and 50 minutes, covering 214 km, the car used 22% of its battery. There were about 72 km of range remaining to the final destination. The average consumption observed was 25.9 kWh every 100 km, with an exterior temperature of about 9-10 degrees Celsius, and an internal temperature of 24.5 degrees Celsius.

The vehicle was equipped with level 2 driving assistance which includes adaptive cruise control and lane centering/keeping.

The car has a rear motor and a 66 kWh battery (62 kWh net). When the battery was down to 3% of energy, an additional 3.7-3.8 kWh were expected to remain as a buffer, but the car didn't use it.

At arrival, the navigator showed 6.7km to the destination but the car showed 4km. Ultimately, the drive arrived to the destination.

Charging from 0% started with 19.3 kW at 370 Volts. After 45 minutes, it was 88%. and a further 36 minutes to charge it to 100%. From 2% the car charged on 20 kW but it gradually increases the power of the charge. After 50 minutes, the vehicle charged 60.65 kWh with a battery level of 90%.

The test of the 1000km test completed with the car. The trip of 1114.9 km took 9:27 driving hours and a total journey duration of 13 hours and a consumed 261 kWh.
