Video Summary

The Tesla Model 3 costs £39,990 in the UK. This standard, real-wheel drive version has a range of 320 miles on paper. The long-range real-wheel drive model being tested should do 435 miles on a charge. The tested model has about £1,500 of upgraded wheels, which lower the range to around 400 miles. The paint is another £1,300, and it has an optional autopilot pack for £3,400, raising the total to £51,000. As a lease, it would cost £420 a month.

The update on this Tesla Model 3 includes slimmer headlights and redesigned taillights, all of which have contributed to a coefficient of drag of 0.219, making it very efficient. Also, the redesigned wheels and tyres have decreased rolling resistance. Sound-deadening, bushes, and interior changes make this updated model a comprehensive revision.

The indicator stalks have been removed, and the gear shift is located at the top right of the screen. These are cost-cutting measures, not decluttering. 65-watt USB-Cs can charge a laptop. It has aluminum trim. The seats are new and ventilated. Back seat space is still not adequate for tall adults. There is a small eight-inch screen with YouTube, Netflix, and games.

The car is lighter now, weighing just over 1.7 tons. It can fast charge up to 250 kilowatts, adding 175 miles in just 15 minutes. For a mild “mile-muncher,” drivers are likely to achieve 250–260 motorway miles before requiring a quick fast charge.

The driving experience makes it a great EV, and this includes very nice handling. Steering is unnervingly light and direct. Modern EVs have great handling, and all of the car's numerous sensors further enhance this ability. An excellent mobile app shows charging costs and plans routes, and can precondition the car. It is so great that you wouldn't want to live without it!

The overall conclusion is that this is still a great car, despite the intense competition, due to a combination of fun driving and practicality.
