The Ford Explorer reviewed is an all-electric SUV made for the European market. Unlike the American gas-guzzling version, this Explorer is slimmer. The car is built on a shared platform with Volkswagen, using the tech side of VW's ID4. It is a bit of a peach; it is super to drive.The base trim gets 19-inch alloys, keyless entry, and LED headlights with running lights. Adaptive cruise control and dual-zone air conditioning are included. The premium trim has heated front seats, a massaging driver's seat, a heated steering wheel, keyless entry and start, and wireless phone charging. This trim also gets a panoramic glass sunroof and 20-inch alloy wheels. Matrix LED headlights allow high beams without dazzling other drivers.
A heat pump is not included. It costs extra. Driver's assistance packages add a heads-up display and a 360-degree camera for parking. The car has Ford built a nice car, with the tech side VW does incredibly.

You'll need the extended range all-wheel-drive version to achieve the fastest charging speed of 185 kW. The extended range rear-wheel drive version is 145 kW and 135 kW. A 10% to 80% charge at a fast charger takes just under 30 minutes. A 7-kW home charger would take 8 to 9 hours.
The car has a five-star ENCAP rating for safety. It has three years and sixty thousand miles worth of warranty.
Downsides include that the powered tailgate doesn't open particularly high and the center headrest isn't the best for tall adults. There's no three-zone air conditioning, just dual. Rear windows don't go all the way down.
