The MG HS SUV offers a visually pleasing exterior design. Some cheaper plastics are used for glove box, low on doors and on door bins. The infotainment system is okay visually, however, it isn’t very responsive and is a little confusing. The driver’s display is nice and clear. Additionally, the glove box doesn’t shut properly.
The 1.5L turbo-petrol engine in the petrol-only model lacks mid-range punch. At the rear are old USB ports with wires. The adaptive cruise control as standard doesn’t have adaptivity with the Manual. However, there is regenerative braking and Vehicle To Load (V2L) for electrical appliances.
Back seat is roomy with knee room and headroom. It can carry three people adequately with a flat floor. Rear doors contain a door bin. Additionally, the back windows roll completely down. It also has two USB ports, but old ones again.
At 507 liters, boot space is large enough to hold six carry-on suitcases. It’s easy to slide things in because there is no lip. Also, you get a net there to keep the cleaning equipment.
As far as performance, the 0-60 test came in at 8.6 seconds which is faster than manufacturer’s 9.6 seconds. Brake tests are impressive at stopping 37 meters.

The final recommendation is that the MG HS is a good buy for simple, A to B family transport. With prices at £23,572, it’s a good value for money for people who aren’t car enthusiasts.
