Video Summary

The XPeng G6 2025 has an upgraded exterior, reworked interior, and overhauled suspension. According to XPeng, 34% of the core components in the 2025 G6 were replaced. Front DRLs are now one continuous light bar. LiDar has been removed and replaced with clean plastic panels.

The Black Night Edition has Michelin Pilot Sport EV tires (255/45 R20). Without the Black Night package, the tires are 18-inch Maxxis Waltz MS2s (235/60 R18) across the board. With the premium Michelin tires, there is better road noise reduction. The upper front control arm has been downgraded to stamped steel from aluminum.

The G6 doesn't feel like an EV in Comfort or Normal power modes. The response isn't snappy, requiring more accelerator pedal input to achieve maximum power. A recommendation is to try it out with the family riding in the back.

The trunk features are disappointing. It might be the most barebones trunk seen in any EV lately. The rear seats have seat heating, but no visible switch.

Compared to the G9, the only feature better is the two USB-C ports. It does not have air suspension to change the height, nor a frunk, glove box, or sunglasses holder. The charge port isn’t lighted, either. As far as features, it’s a “truth, but not the whole truth moment”. The interior updates are dramatic: Door panels, dashboard, center console, seats, and headliner are reworked and upscale. However, the seats have been downgraded from nappa leather to synthetic material, and the massage function isn’t great. One major early complaint from consumers was the rear seat comfort which has not seen improvements.
