Video Summary

The XPENG G9 is a full-sized SUV with first deliveries expected around September. This review focuses on the exterior, interior, and driving. This is a pre-production car, but close to the final version.

Dimensions: 4.9 meters long with a 3-meter wheelbase, a curb weight of 2340 kg.

This version has a 98 kWh gross capacity / 93 kWh net NMC battery, providing a WLTP range of 520 km.

The performance version is AWD with a permanent magnet motor in the back and an induction motor in the front with 543 hp and 717 Nm torque, doing 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 200 km/h.

The car offers comfort, dual-chamber air suspension, and runs on 21” wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport tires.

It supports DC charging with a peak power of 300 kW (800 V) and AC charging (11 kW with 3-phase support) allowing for 10-80% charging in 20 minutes.

It has a 660-liter boot with a powered liftgate with foot touch control, and also a 71-liter frunk. There is extra storage under the boot to store cables, etc. The boot is split into 70/30 foldable seats. There is 1500 kg of towing capacity but the tow hitch costs extra.

The car is equipped with traditional rails.

Regarding the interior:

The car features a premium interior that includes a premium package that costs approximately 4000 euros extra.

The seats are full leather with thigh support on all four positions; the passenger seat has extra-long thigh support. The seats are ventilated on all four positions; heated seats are standard; there is a massage function on all four positions. There is a great, Dynaudio sound system with 22 speakers and over 2000 Watts, it also includes Dolby Atmos. There is built-in ambient lighting in the front and back, and soft-touch material on the top of the dash. The sound proofing has good quality.

There is a single QI charger in the middle, there’s phone or key storage on the right, two adaptive cup holders.

This has three big 15-inch screens, and a 10.25-inch instrument cluster.

The rear back rest is adjustable by 10 degrees.

It's noted that the all-wheel drive version has dual chamber air suspension.

This has great steering radius and steering feel which makes it feels small.

There are different drive modes such as standard, echo, sport, snow and mud, and terrain driving.

It sounds like the car can talk and provide GPS instructions through the speakers next to your head, to optimize sound and to not disrupt the passenger.

However, there is no way to adjust the steering.

Overall, this is a well-rounded, comfortable, silent, and quick electric car at a competitive price, starting at 72,000 euros for the performance version.
