Video Summary

The car is comparable in size to a Lexus RX, BMW IX, or Volvo XC90, and positioned as a premium brand. In 2024, Xpeng signed an agreement with Volkswagen for collaboration in platform and software development. The G9 has a front trunk with 71 liters of capacity, and the rear trunk offers 660 liters in a five-seat configuration. The rear seats are comfortable with adjustable recline, thigh support, and massage. Rear passengers also have USB-A and USB-C ports.

Some controls have been centralized on the display screen. A screen for multi-media content is available for the passenger. The hyperscreen reflects the outside surroundings and is more difficult for the driver to view when the vehicle is in motion. Some settings are only accessible after logging into an Xpeng account, and smartphone pairing can only be achieved with help from the dealer. The owner couldn't locate how to configure comfort access. Other controls can easily be deactivated; the driver-assist systems seem to work. The system recognized a mounted GoPro as a motorcycle. A test showed that it reached a speed of 100 kph in 6.16 sec, while the 0-100 acceleration in sport mode was slightly better.

The G9 offers three powertrain options: a 313 hp RWD standard range with a 78 kWh LFP battery and 460 km range, a 313 hp RWD long range with a 98 kWh NMC battery and 570 km range, and a 551 hp performance all-wheel-drive with the 98 kWh battery and a range of 520 km. The long-range version of the G9 can charge at up to 300 kW, potentially adding 10% to 80% in just 20 minutes. The average energy consumption for the vehicle is around 20 kWh per 100 km.

It is solid on the inside, average to drive, and has decent features. It would seem to be a good option if there was a leasing offer for it.
