$16,000 Off a Rivian, New R2 in Camo, and EV Credits Under Threat

Video Summary

The video provides the following information about the Rivian R1 series:

Rivian is offering up to $16,000 in total savings on the R1T and R1S, including a $2,000 summer discount, leasing down payment cash, and the $7,500 federal lease credit. These offers can be stacked. Service is expanding with a goal to have 100 service centers and 1,000 mobile service vehicles by the end of the year. More than 70% of service is planned to be done mobile.

The R2 is out testing in full camo. A glimpse of the Gen 2 Quad Motor R1T shows that the quad gear guard badge is coming. Also, the R2 body harness improves over the Gen 1 and 2 by using fewer wires, fewer clips, and fewer splices.

Policy changes might make buying an EV more expensive next year because of a proposal to terminate the federal EV tax credit and home improvement credit. Also, a new $250 annual fee for EV's and $100 annual fee for Hybrids may be implemented to make up for lost gas tax revenue.

There is a strong indicator for the upcoming Quad Motor variant with an exclusive 22" ultra performance wheel. A new paint color is spotted close to Launch Green with the R2 test vehicle. A rear window wiper is now tucked below the glass in the tailgate. This R2 model may be fitted with lidar.
