Video Summary

The 2019 BMW i3S has a 42.2 kWh battery, which has an EPA range rating of 153 miles per charge.

The i3 was introduced by BMW in 2014, and at that time, it had a 22 kWh battery. In mid-2016, BMW introduced a new, larger 33 kWh battery as a 2017 model.

The 2019 models have the larger 42.2 kWh batteries.

The test was conducted under good conditions of 87 degrees, and the air conditioning was on for the entire test.

The tires were off and corrected to the manufacturer's recommended PSI, which is staggered for the i3S.

The front tires should be at 39 PSI and the rear tires at 44 PSI.

The i3's HVA system works pretty well and doesn't have a huge volume of air to cool down.

At a constant 70 mph, the BMW's speedometer read 72 miles an hour. The overall efficiency for this trip was 3.6 miles per kWh.

The range test finished up with 141 miles.
