Here is a summary of the electric car review:
The car reviewed is the 2025 Mercedes Benz CLA 250. It has been Mercedes Benz's subcompact sedan since 2013. The second generation of the CLA came out in 2020 and had a facelift in 2024 and a redesign due next year, for 2026.
The 2024 facelift included updated front bumper and grille. The facelift also includes more standard equipment and an updated MBUX infotainment system, now capable of Wireless Apple Car Play and Android Auto.
Now it is exclusively a mild hybrid that adds a belt-driven generator, which doesn’t change the maximum power output, but adds 13 horsepower down in the low RPMs.
Three trims are available, from the 44,000 dollars Premium, up to the 51,000 dollars Pinnacle. All trims offer optional 4MATIC for $2500.
The front is full LED headlamps, black headlight housing with silver contrast, and an LED daytime running light. I like how Mercedes gives us this updated grille with the Mercedes logos as part of the grille, with a nice chrome contrast to the flat black trim.
It reminds the reviewer of the C300. This entire vehicle is very similar to the C300 and the reviewer would definitely recommend saving your money and going with the CLA (vs the C300) if you don’t plan on keeping people in the back.
The tested car has black and silver contrasted 18-inch AMG rims and a dual-piston Mercedes Benz brake caliper. Wrapped in Bridgestone Turanza all season tires of 225/45/R18.
This car is not formatted for all-wheel drive.
It had body-colored mirrors with an LED turn signal on it, rocker panel side skirt also body colored, and also blind spot monitoring on the mirror glass. The mirrors, however, are a little bit small, but I guess it’s a subcompact vehicle.
The doors also offer aluminum door handles with “smart access.”
The side is also all black window trim and Black A-pillar. It has a large panoramic moonroof.
The tail lights are full LED (turn signal and reverse lights as well). Also, the Mercedes badge in the center functions as the trunk release. It features rear parking sensing.
The 2 L turbo charged four-cylinder engine produces 221 horsepower and 258 lbs-ft of torque, mated to an 8 speed dual clutch automatic transmission, sends the power either to front or all wheels. 0-60 is 5.5 seconds.
The car tested had various add-ons that increased the total price to $50,775. The fuel economy is 30 mpg. Annual fuel cost of $2,100.00.
Under the hood, high up, Mercedes Benz gives them functional air flow for the radiator and inner cooler.
While the Bridgestone Turanza all season tire has an aggressive tread compound, it might be more of a 3 season than all-season.
You could fit over two feet of 24 or 32 oz water bottles in the rear door-mounted bottle holders. It also features a booming Burmester sound system.
